Santa Fe’s rich and colorful past is preserved in centuries-old adobe structures and European-style churches throughout the city. From its famous Plaza (laid in 1607 by New Mexico Governor, Don Pedro de Peralta) to the Palace of Governors which served as residence to 100 Spanish, Mexican, and American governors since 1610.
